Authoring

Authoring is a collective term for all the activities involved in the process of putting toghether

a master. This process consists of three parts:

- Encoding (digitization of video and audio material)

- Graphical work (menus etc.)

- Composition of the material into a playable disc

- Subtitle

The composition of the digitized video is made in a authoring program.

Here are menus being imported and linked to videomaterial. The region for which the DVD will be used in is decided, subtitles and extra audiotracks etc, are inserted.
